A unanimous decision from Newton and Spillers that "Embarrassing situation" is the best song I've ever written. *
During lunch at school Mumford said he's getting a keyboard and that "we can play together" as a band. This made quite a few people think I was forming a band. Huw said he would sing, as would Newton, Luty and Spillers. Also Needham offered his services on piano. I would still like Rachel to sing and so Steven Jones told her that. She looked astounded! Newton thought of "the Anti-Frankies" with pisstakes of their songs. Everyone contributed band names. On the way home Spillers asked me the name of my band. I replied "Fuck all". My ideal lineup. Me - keyboards, vocals. Huw - vocals..Holey - synths. I'd still like Rachel on vocals but that's a bit ludicrous
My La Dusseldorf LP came today. It's brilliant..**
According to what I've been saying in school this will be my last diary entry ever! If it is (and it isn't) I'd put something really thrilling at the end. ***
I have amended the lyrics to "Fond regards..." I have also changed the backing to "The way we were" which is better now.
My first recorded cover version - "Eight days a week". Rotten vocals. ****
I can see that my band - what band??? - could become like La Dusseldorf. Their sound is dense and dirty and the vocals are almost as funny as mine.
I can't find any lyrics for "I don't want to hold your hand". When I do I'll record it onto tape. I've decided it's about time IBM T5 came into being so I'll start on it soon.

(Two hours later)
As I promised, rerecorded versions of "old" songs (Intro / Waltz / Dance / Event / Transit - all to be retitled) so far! Tomorrow the "Love / hate" songs on side 2. *****

Footnotes
* Not a lot of competition really. "Lovesick" was better though
** Due to the labels being pretty much unreadable, I thought Side Two was Side One and vice versa. It was only reading about it in Julian Cope's book "Krautrocksampler" in 1995 that I realised I'd got it wrong.
*** I checked the actual end of the diary in April 1989. It's not very thrilling.
**** Doesn't exist any more. Thank God.
***** Two hours to record a whole load of songs? How easy was life then? This is the true start of my recording career, IBM T5 became IBM T1 and was titled "Robert Morgan Learns To Dance".
